Now you've done it, NVR...
Any minute now JCanon will be along with a six page post about archeologists like Finkelstein being all wrong.
Of course, this post will include that damn little gragh about carbon dating and Pharaoh Shishak.

This submission doesn't relate to person to person communication, rather Watchtower writings.
Two of their very favorite words, that you read over and over again, are "apparently" and "evidently."
Ironically, in Watchtowerese, they both mean the same thing..."We can't prove that the crap we're feeding you right now is anywhere close to accurate, but we sure want to make you believe that it is."

Hey BrentR...
You're right, Eve didn't tempt Adam with an apple...she tempted him with her really nice "PEAR!" (bada-bing)

I'm with Gopher on this one....there are so many to choose from!
One that comes to mind right now is Proverbs 5:19 where it speaks of your wife as "a charming mountain goat."
That really makes you ladies feel special, huh?
Of course, thats how its rendered in the NWT; most others say "deer" or "doe."
Leave it to the the WTS to come up with mountain goat.

13th century carnage and destruction of Genghis Khan
by M.J. ini was checking out a wikepedia article on genghis khan and saw these tidbits: .
china reportedly suffered a drastic decline in population during 13th and 14th centuries.
before the mongol invasion, chinese dynasties reportedly had approximately 120 million inhabitants; after the conquest was completed in 1279, the 1300 census reported roughly 60 million people.

But....but...M.J.....
I thought that people only died since 1914...you know ..."sign of the last days"......."critical times hard to deal with".....
All those people couldn't have died back then!
You must, for your own good, stop reading information from "apostate" historians.

I have found something truly horrific.
by cultswatter inthis is big, very big.
bigger that pascal petite(well, just as big), bigger than the demonic hand or the rams head in the live forever book!!.
to present this properly, i will need a scan of the page in the live forever book where the thief is running from the police clutching a bag of goods.

The Volare police car? Hey, lots of departments ( and taxi cab drivers ) used them.
The thief looks a little like Troy Aikman, but with darker hair.
Are you saying that over twenty years ago, the Society predicted that Aikmans play by play career would go south, leaving him no option but a life of crime? That is horrible! ( horrific, too! )

Tipping your hat to a lady is demonic
by marmot in...according to the watchtower.
i don't have access to the watchtower library right now (i've only got a mac) but i remember laughing my arse off when i read that in an old questions from readers.
apparently tipping your hat to a lady is considered demonic because it shows deference to the lesser of the sexes, a man putting himself below the woman and other rambling "reasoning" about its origins in medieval times and such garbage.
-
Iron Rod
"You don't know how important it makes a woman feel to have a man tip his hat to her."
Well, we can't have women feeling important in Dubland, can we?
You see, the real reason they said that a man tipping his hat to a woman was demonic was because it blocked her view of his eyes so that he could look at her breasts without her noticing. Bad thoughts...demonic thoughts....evil thoughts
Wonder why men quit wearing hats?

millions now living will never die [ or did they]
by jacethespace ini just cant understand why the watchtower still holds to this convention from 1933, that millions now living will never die.my nan was born in 1925 and shes in her late 80s.so who was the watchtower refering to when they said that they would never die.it coudnt have been people who were middle aged back then or older.and i cant believe they were just talking to people between the ages of 7-20 or so either that wouldnt fit the " millions " hype.yet its still refered to today in meetings and in the revelation book as a very important event.

Sure they refer to that "landmark" convention in Ceder Point,Ohio in 1922. They mention it over and over. They tell us time after time about "Judge" Drunkafords admonition to "Advertise, Advertise, Advertise...the King and His Kingdom!"
What they DONT say is what Anti-Prohibition Joe said in that very talk...Namely, the things here discussed.
Hmmm...wonder why?
